A Heartfelt Thanks for the Success of the "I AM DAVID HAMILTON JACKSON" Student Art Show!

Artwork by Gabriella Martial (SCECHS)

Reflecting on the incredible success of the "I AM DAVID HAMILTON JACKSON" Student Art Show, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the amazing talent and dedication of our students, teachers, and community supporters. Held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the historic Fort Frederik Museum, this event was a powerful tribute to one of the Virgin Islands' most cherished civil rights heroes.

Exhibition Highlights

One of the standout features of the show was the collaborative group painting project, which showcased the creativity and teamwork of my Basic Art students from St. Croix Educational Complex High School (SCECHS) and Ms. Lizette Llanos's AP Literature students from St. Croix Central High School (CHS). This large-scale masterpiece, along with other stunning works such as mixed media pieces and social justice collages, highlighted these young creatives' incredible artistry and passion.
